Banton Residence
Entertain Away
A double brick wall separated the outside space from the inside and was in the way when family functions and visitors came over. Beowulf Builders propped and pulled down the solid brick wall and put in a strucural steel beam, then re-bricked to the exact opening desired, allowing a six-pane bi-fold window to perfectly slot in. The wrap-around bench brought inside and outside together, making serving a large crowd a breeze.
The roofing is pitched as a butterfly roofing system, allowing the hot air to rise out of the entertaining area rather then get caught under and transfer the heat into the kitchen and rest of the house. The poly-carbonate roofing system blocks the sun and cuts the heat transfer by over 60 %, this allows people to look up at night sky and see the stars, as if looking through glass.
The kitchen was so tastefully finished, needing something to complement its personality and character. Glass splash backs were just not going to do. The final choice was hand-picked by the client and dressed the kitchen perfectly.
